DENKEN is the design practice of designer-developer Oliver Brown, focussed primarily on creating lasting digital experiences and visual identities for like-minded and forward-looking organisations and individuals.
I work from idea through to form and function, bringing cohesion to creative thinking and technical know-how. This way of working creates meaningful design that connects clients with audiences through shared values.
I have been designing and building for the web since the internet came as free minutes via a CD-ROM and I discovered graphic design and my passion for typography thanks to a free version of Corel Draw 4.
My work is shaped by these core principles:
Less is more. Good design distills a concept to its purest form to create clear narratives that cut through the noise.
No one knows a business better than its people, which is why I prefer to work in collaboration rather than in isolation. Partnership gets the best results.
Saul Bass said it best. “Design is thinking made visual”. Without a clear and compelling concept, design is just window dressing.
